Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading specialist engineering firm on the appointment of a Health, Safety & Environmental Officer.

As HSE Officer, you will support operations across manufacturing, warehousing, and office environments, helping to uphold and advance a culture of safety, compliance, and sustainability. You will play a key role in ensuring the effective implementation of environmental and health & safety systems across a range of busy and technically complex facilities.

In your new role:

Develop and maintain HSE policies, procedures and systems in line with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and relevant legislative frameworksConduct site inspections, risk assessments and audits, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective control measuresProvide day-to-day HSE support to teams across multiple locations, ensuring site and operational compliance with internal and external standardsLead and manage incident investigations, reporting findings and driving preventive actionsPromote behavioural safety and contribute to continuous improvement across all areas of the businessDeliver toolbox talks, training sessions and inductions to employees and contractorsMonitor and analyse HSE data, producing regular reports and identifying trendsAct as a key point of contact for all Health, Safety and Environmental matters across the businessWork collaboratively with cross-functional teams to embed a proactive and positive safety culture

What you will need to succeed:

Experience in an HSE role within a Manufacturing or Engineering environmentRelevant Health and Safety qualifications (NEBOSH, etc)Working knowledge of current HSE legislation and compliance frameworksExperience implementing and managing Health & Safety systems and practices across multiple sitesExperience in carrying out investigations, audits and reportingFull clean UK driving licence with flexibility to travel between sites as required

Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):

Familiarity with digital HSE management systems and toolsExperience with Environmental and Sustainability initiatives (e.g., waste management, carbon footprint reduction)Experience in delivering internal HSE training
