Permanent / Full-time
Responsibilities
- Using assessment skills and strategies to determine the patient's needs during admission.
- Thorough and accurate documentation of nursing admission assessments.
- Continuously assess the patient's condition.
- Clearly state the patient problems for which nursing care will be provided.
- Create and document a treatment plan based on patients' needs and best practices.
- Update the care plan, whether written or computerised.
- Provide care under minimum supervision in a timely, accurate, and safe manner.
- Maintain a safe atmosphere for all patients, visitors, and staff.
- Advocate as needed for the patients, preserving their dignity and confidentiality.
- Function efficiently in an emergency.
- Adapt to changing workloads.
- Know and practise within legal restrictions, especially those set forth by the NMBI.
- Evaluate and update care plans appropriately
Requirements
- Possess a complete registration in the NMBI-maintained Register of Nurses, General Division.
- Evidence of personal and professional development
- Ongoing skills training - related to care necessary for patient caseload
- Have at least three years recent relevant post-registration nursing experience (full-time or equivalent hours part-time) in an acute hospital setting with at least one years’ Emergency Department nursing experience.
