Staffline Recruitment Ireland is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join a specialist engineering company. This is a permanent role based in Shannon, Co. Clare.

Responsibilities

The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of precision machinery. Key responsibilities include:

Maintenance and repair of grinding machines, motors, pumps, and hydraulic systems;Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues to minimise downtime;Conducting preventative and corrective maintenance;Supporting production teams by ensuring all machines are running efficiently;Identifying opportunities to improve reliability, performance, and safety standards;Liaising with supervisors and team members to prioritise workload and machine availability.

Benefits

Criteria

Strong mechanical background with hands-on experience in machine maintenance, ideally gained within a precision engineering environment.Knowledge of motors, pumps, and hydraulic repairs essential;Previous experience working with grinding machines highly desirable;Ability to work independently as well as part of a team;Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills.
