Job description

Are you an experienced procurement professional with strong supplier management skills and a background in stock control? We are seeking a Procurement Manager to take ownership of purchasing and stock management for a well-established hardware and building supplies business. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Newcastle West, Co. Limerick.

Operating in a busy retail and trade environment, they pride themselves on maintaining excellent supplier relationships, offering a wide and competitive product range, and delivering exceptional value to their customers. To strengthen operations further, they are now seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Manager to join their team.

Responsibilities

The Procurement Manager will oversee purchasing and stock control for the store, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective supply of products. Key responsibilities include:

Manage supplier records, pricing files, and stock orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processing;Monitor and control stock levels, resolve supplier queries, and oversee returns;Source new products, coordinate promotions with suppliers and marketing, and expand product offerings;Build and maintain strong supplier relationships through regular meetings and effective negotiation;Review purchasing reports, improve procurement processes, and apply sound judgement in supplier selection;Represent the company at supplier visits, trade shows, and training when required.

Benefits

Criteria

Minimum of 2 years' experience in procurement or purchasing;Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills;Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint);Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a busy environment;Strong organisational skills with a proactive and problem-solving approach.
