Freight Forwarding Specialist - Leixlip

One of the largest providers of industrial, medical and special gases in the UK and Ireland is looking to add a Freight Specialist to their team. The role will be based on the Intel site in Leixlip.

The ideal candidate will come from a manufacturing / logistics background with an understanding of Freight activities or with experience of import and export activities.

This role has become available as a direct result of continued growth within the organisation.

Permanent role, 39 hours week based 5 days on site on the Intel site. Mon-Fri.

Responsibilities:

· Support with freight planning activities and logistics coordination

Vendor PO follow up

· Support month end billing cycle where vendor or customer queries exist

· Co-ordination of PO requests for month end reconciliations

· Ensure rate file effective & expiry dates are current and up to date on SharePoint

· Archive outdated commercial buy and sell rates

· Follow up with vendors for rate file updates

· Checking of queried vendor invoices where ongoing disputes exist

· Production of commercial KPIs

· Creation of Power Point slides for SLT/QBR

· Support projects related to operational, productivity, cost improvement, process optimisation

Requirements

· 2+ years’ experience in freight / logistics / import & export role

· Experience in working with suppliers

· Understanding of the negotiation / procurement process

· Ability to think ahead and plan accordingly

· Practical problem-solving ability

· Credible communication and negotiation skills at all levels

· Ability to identify, develop and implement innovative ideas
