A global leader in medical technology is seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join their high-performing team in Limerick. What You'll Do:
Lead the design and development of complex devices, including both capital equipment and disposable componentsTranslate product requirements into detailed engineering specificationsSelect appropriate materials, processes, and tooling for design and manufacturingDrive engineering studies and proof-of-concept testingOversee risk assessments: PHA, FTA, dFMEA/uFMEAPerform root cause analysis and lead corrective actionsCollaborate with manufacturing to improve design for manufacturabilityManage projects, assign tasks, and coordinate cross-functional teamsMentor and lead engineers, managing performance and developmentPresent technical updates to internal and external stakeholdersWhat You'll Bring:
Degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering (or related discipline)6–9 years' experience in medical device product development5+ years leading design teams on capital equipment and/or disposable productsStrong knowledge of GD&T, DFM/DFA, and materials selectionFamiliar with Design for Six Sigma, DOE, and statistical toolsExperienced in working under regulated systems (ISO , MDR, FDA CFR )Skilled in project management and technical leadershipExcellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skillsWhy Apply:
