Senior Project Manager - Biotech Plant - Dun Laoghaire, DublinOffice/Project Location:Dun Laoghaire, DublinEmployment Type: ContractWork Location:  HybridPay: €70 - €85 per hourExperience: 7+ years Visa: EU passport or Stamp 4 visa requiredOur client is a leading international Biotechnology company with a state of the art aseptic manufacturing facility in Dun Laoghaire, South Dublin. The plant is one of the most dynamic in Ireland and is currently undergoing rapid expansion and capital investment. This is an excellent opportunity to get experience into Ireland's leading aseptic manufacturing plant.This is a Senior Project Manager position. The candidate would be responsible for scoping, managing and delivering projects up to €10m in value.The Senior Project Manager will lead project teams and interact across functional and site department groups to achieve project objectives. There is significant investment being made on this site and a number of Senior Project Manager positions need to be filled - managing projects for new buildings, facilities/utilities system/equipment introductions in our Warehousing and Manufacturing Buildings.You will be expected to run the projects with some strategic guidance from their manager/peers but have the ability to work independently for the most part. It is very important that the candidate has experience running projects – that could be either for another pharmaceutical company (or similar), a design house or a contractor. You will be leading a multi-departmental team to execute the project, so will need the soft skills to manage people, particularly when they are not direct reports. Construction and/or process equipment specification/qualification experience would be very beneficial.It is critical for this individual to understand that Safety, Quality and Compliance are our highest priorities in how we manage and perform our work.With minimal guidance, the candidate will lead all aspects of their project(s): Safety, planning, cost, schedule, risk, communications, resources, team dynamics and performance, implementation, monitoring, completion and follow-up.Project management and execution of projects including project planning/scoping and execution, prioritization, resources management, status management and external communication.Working with various stakeholders, both inside and outside to scope projects and ensure requirements are satisfied. Managing expectations and communicating project progress and challenges to these stakeholders.Develop and/or review engineering technical specifications and bid documents for engineered equipment, materials engineering, and construction service contractsLead day to day design (where applicable) and construction management of project works, including procurement, installation, and commissioningProvide engineering support for manufacturing processes and equipment within the manufacturing facility by designing, specifying, purchasing and constructing mechanical systems and components (with the aid of an A&E firm if required).Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure that installations and deliverables meet industry standards and client expectations.Strategic solution seeking to complex project phasing and execution issues. The Project Manager will be responsible for their portfolio of projects from concept, through design, construction, commissioning and operationCoordinating the introduction of new equipment including driving the project team problem solving and troubleshooting process prior to qualification & start-upLeader of multidisciplinary site teamsWork in a collaborative manner within the Process Teams structure and contributes to Root Cause Investigations and Cross Functional Investigations.Role model safety leadership. Support a safe working environment by driving compliance with environmental health/safety practice, rules and regulations. Ensure projects are designed with superior levels of environmental control, health and safety built in.Supervise contingent workers as needed. These workers include construction managers and all general craft labour and A&E firm personnelPresent projects to senior leadership at governing bodies for updates and approvalsLimited travel may be required to support execution of projectsRequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Relevant ExperienceTypically, 5+ years project management/engineering experience, preferably in the biotechnology industry / aseptic pharmaceutical environmentProven project management experience from project inception through to handoverStrong mechanical capability with hands on experience in a technical role within a high-volume manufacturing environment, is advantageousDemonstrated experience in a GDP Compliant environment.Proven ability working cross functionally, delivering technical solutions and implementing improvements.Solid leadership skillset and experience working in a team environment, embracing an interdependent working culture that delivers resultsTechnical report writing and communication/presentation skillsData driven decision makerAbility to work to tight deadlines in a fast-moving environmentPackageContract role - Hourly rate €70 - €85 per hourMinimum 12 month contract with the possibility of an extension. These are projects that are going to run over for about the next two years.Onsite frequency: 4 days per week until familiar with project then move to 3 days on site as required.
