Job Description
Precious Minds is looking for enthusiastic, passionate, and dedicated Early Years Educators to join our team. As an Early Years Educator, you will be responsible for creating and delivering an engaging, strengths-based learning environment. You will work collaboratively with your colleagues to ensure that all children receive the highest quality care and support in their individual early learning journey.
Roles and Responsibilities
Strengths Based Learning & Development Environment:
Plan, implement, and assess play-based activities that stimulate the development of children across all areas: cognitive, social, emotional, and physical.
Observe and document childrens progress, ensuring developmental milestones are being met and individualised plans are in place where needed.
Provide support for children with additional needs and adapt activities to ensure inclusivity.
Creating a Positive and Safe Environment:
Foster a warm, welcoming, and safe environment for children, ensuring their wellbeing is always prioritised.
Promote positive behaviour and implement strategies to support children through challenging behaviours.
Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed, maintaining a clean and organised space.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with fellow educators to create and execute a comprehensive and dynamic curriculum.
Share observations, insights, and strategies with colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach to each child's learning.
Engage in regular team meetings to discuss educational plans, child development, and team goals.
Parent and Caregiver Communication:
Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with parents and caregivers, keeping them updated on their childs progress and wellbeing.
Provide guidance and support to parents as needed, ensuring they feel confident in their childs development and learning experiences.
Administrative Duties:
Keep accurate and up-to-date records of children's development, including learning journals and progress reports.
Maintain proper documentation in line with regulatory requirements, including safeguarding and health and safety protocols.
Professional Development:
Participate in training and development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Attend workshops, team meetings, and other professional development sessions as required.
The successful candidate must have
Qualifications:
Level 5 qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent) is required. Higher qualifications (Level 6 or above) are desirable.
Experience:
Previous experience working in an early years setting or similar childcare environment is preferred.
Skills & Attributes:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to working with children.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a collaborative working environment.
Knowledge and understanding of child safeguarding and health and safety standards.
Knowledge of the Aistear curriculum framework.
First Aid Certification (or willingness to complete certification).
Hours
Full Time (8 Hours per Day) Part Time (5-6 Hours per day)Salary
