Design Estimator role, full time and permanent Responsibilities: · Analyse drawings, specifications and tender documents · Make assessments on the requirement for structural items · Assess project risks (design risks/buildability) · Prepare detailed quotations based on tender packages, that are fully compliant with current building regulations. · Attend meetings with clients and customers · Contribute to value engineering exercises and propose alternative constructive solutions that support efficient use of resources · Support the implementation of standardisation and continuous improvement in timber frame design with an emphasis on quality and cost efficiency · Provide cost and procurement advice to the project team during the early stages · Review costings throughout the process · Prepare clear project handover documentation to design team once orders are secured · Identify and seek opportunities to support the Company to minimise pollution and waste and reduce our environmental impact · Be a champion of our Continuous Improvement programme · Building trusting partnerships and a customer focused reputation with our clients. · Lead and motivate others through exceptional performance, positive values and behaviours, promoting and endorsing a positive safety culture · Be flexible and willing to carry out other duties as may be assigned to you by the Company from time to time. Skills, Experience, Training & Qualifications: · Relevant degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar discipline · At least two years working as an estimator or quantity surveyor in the construction industry with demonstrated ability in BOM estimation. · Experience with Timber Frame Construction advantage · Strong understanding of modern methods of building and construction with a passion for innovation, quality and cost efficiency · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to confidently engage with clients, build trust, negotiate effectively and deliver exceptional customer service. · The analytical and technical ability to accurately measure and quantify all relevant costs associated with each project · Capable of managing multiple projects, and working to tight deadlines in a busy team environment · Fully PC literate, Proficient with MS Office, familiarity with digital platforms and technological software packages and the ability to adapt to new software as the business requires. · AutoCAD knowledge preferable · Hold a current valid driving license · A self-starter, able to work as part of a team but also can work on own initiative
