Role: Java/Scala Development LeadLocation: Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid)Overview: Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking an experienced Java/Scala Development Lead to head up a team responsible for delivering technology solutions that support financial and regulatory reporting across multiple jurisdictions, including the EU, Singapore, Canada, and the USA.The successful candidate will lead a team implementing robust ETL and data transformation systems, ensuring data accuracy, scalability, and compliance with complex financial regulations.Key Responsibilities:Lead and mentor a team of 4–6 Java/Scala developers delivering data and ETL solutions for regulatory reporting.Drive architectural design, code reviews, and best practices across the development lifecycle.Collaborate closely with business analysts and QA teams to translate regulatory requirements into scalable technical solutions.Manage workload prioritization, sprint planning, and stakeholder communication.Liaise with infrastructure and DevOps teams to define and implement environment and deployment requirements.Oversee production support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure ongoing application stability.Ensure quality, performance, and compliance standards are consistently met.Key Skills & Experience:Minimum 2 years leading a Java or Scala development team.8+ years of Java experience or 3+ years of Scala experience (functional programming experience advantageous).Strong knowledge of ETL processes, REST APIs, JSON, and data integration patterns.Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL/SQL databases.Familiarity with streaming frameworks such as Akka/Pekko Streams or Java equivalents.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively with business and technology stakeholders.Financial services or capital markets experience preferred.Experience with Jira/Confluence or similar project tracking tools.Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP) an advantage.Eligibility: Must hold a minimum Stamp 4 visa and be based within a commutable distance to Dublin.#LI-JM2
