Salary: From €55, base + 26% shift premium

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Shift Technician to join an on-site operations team supporting critical utility services at an iconic flagship industrial facility in Dublin 8. This is a permanent, full-time role on a rotating 24/7 shift schedule. The successful candidate will operate and maintain a range of utility systems while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Shift Schedule (12.25-hour shifts):

·Six blocks of 4 x Day Shifts with 4 rest days between each block

·Followed by

·Three blocks of 4 x Night Shifts with 4 rest days between each block

·Then repeat

Salary & Allowances:

·Base salary from €55, plus

·26% shift premium, made up of:

·20% for extended day shifts

·6% additional for night shifts

·Benefits include Healthcare and pension

·Please note: This role is based at a unionised site. Union membership is required in accordance with existing site agreements. If not already a member, the successful candidate is expected to join

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain:Water treatment and wastewater systemsAmmonia refrigeration plantCO₂ and nitrogen generation systemsCompressed air, cooling towers, steam, and electrical distributionPerform preventative and corrective mechanical maintenanceIdentify and repair faults where practicableEnsure plant performance meets reliability and SLA targetsApply safe systems of work, including isolations and permit-to-work systemsUse and maintain digital systems: SCADA (Sembyc), CAMMS/SAP, Know How, and email communication toolsSupport planned outages and engineering projectsMaintain documentation, SOPs, and maintenance recordsLiaise with internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

Fully qualified in Mechanical Fitting or Marine EngineeringAt least 5 years' industrial experience in a mechanical maintenance roleSkilled in fault finding and maintenance of gearboxes, pumps, valves, hydraulics, and pneumaticsFamiliar with LV electrical systems and plant instrumentationComfortable working independently, including during night shiftsExperience applying safe systems of work (e.g., isolations, permit systems)Able to read and act on plant performance dataWilling to use and adapt to digital tools and new technologiesCapable of fulfilling safety-related roles such as Safety Controller, Designated Person, Issuer, or Acceptor
