Your New OrganisationYour new organisation is a state-owned company responsible for delivering and developing public water and wastewater services across the country.They play a vital role in safeguarding Ireland’s water resources and enabling sustainable development.They operate nationwide in conjunction with 31 local authorities along with various public and private sector stakeholders. They have offices located nationally.Your New Role There are several Senior Engineering vacancies across the Eastern Region. These include:Dublin, Kildare, Meath, Wicklow and Louth - All separate vacancies. Your new role is to be based mainly on site but will also have an element of hybrid working forRelevant documentation. This is likely 1–2 days per week. Selection of duties You will be responsible for carrying out site visits for non-standard new connection applications, performing site assessments, and creating work orders for non-standard new connections within a given region. You will work closely with third parties assigned to work in the field, ensuring the delivery of on-site connection services.You will be responsible for overseeing connection requests to the water and wastewater network, working closely with Local Authorities and relevant parties to deliver connection services for customers.You will also support the delivery of connection-related network reinforcement schemes driven by connection demand, working with counterparts from Capital Delivery, Local Authorities, or third-party service providers.You will provide an excellent customer experience through the end-to-end connection process.Monitor incoming site inspection requests in relation to non-standard New Connection applicationsConduct site assessments in accordance with Health and Safety Policies and Standards, and input requirements into work orderCarry out technical and field assessment of the new connections application as requiredDocument results of inspections and approve/close work order as applicableOn-site QA for Water & Wastewater Infrastructure,What You'll Need for the RoleYou'll need a blend of technical expertise, regulatory awareness, and strong interpersonal skills.Have a relevant third level qualification in civil engineeringUnderstanding of planning applications and connection regulations.Familiarity with GIS systems, asset data management, and field inspection protocols.Ability to conduct site assessments, prepare Work Orders, and ensure compliance with New Connection Standards.A minimum of 3 years' experience in water, utilities or similar industries is desirable and relevant experience.You will need your own method of transport (mileage paid for this). This role will suit a senior engineer coming from a private contractor / developer or consultant practice, looking to progress their career into a client-facing role. What You'll Get in ReturnIn return for the above, you will work for a semi-state organisation that is involved in some of Ireland's key infrastructure projects.You will have the opportunity for a "Job for life" once you have cemented your presence within the organisation.You will work flexible working hours, in contrast to the private sector, and operate as your own boss with regard to autonomy, schedules and site visits.You will work Monday to Friday 40 hours per week.26 days annual leave and all paid Bank Holidays.There is hybrid work each week, typically 1–2 days.For this role, the salary on offer depends on your experience level.The budget for this is €75,000 to €80,000.Civil Service Mileage is also paid.
