Saoirse Domestic Violence Services is seeking Relief Support Workers to provide essential support to women and children in our refuge services. You'll step in when full-time staff are on leave and when short notice cover is needed, offering critical care and emotional support in a safe, empowering environment.

The Relief Support Worker will provide support services to clients of Saoirse through actively supporting their Care Planning in conjunction with their Keyworkers in a non-judgemental, compassionate way and promoting empowerment and confidence building, through a philosophy of 'self-help and mutual aid'.

The successful candidate will have relevant experience in a social care setting. You must be available to work both day and night shifts on a rotating roster. The successful candidate will be highly flexible and have the ability to adapt to the changing client group. You will possess the ability to treat service users in a non-judgmental and respectful manner, adhere to professional boundaries, and work professionally at all times. The successful candidate will ensure the efficient operation of the service while on duty and provide support to the women and children in the Refuge.

Location: Tallaght and Rathcoole

Contract Type: Ad hoc

Key Responsibilities:

Support women and children escaping domestic abuseRespond to emotional and practical needsOperate our 24-hour helpline during shiftsAssist with care planning alongside our wider support teamMaintain a safe, clean, and supportive refuge environmentEnsure professional standards and confidentiality at all times

Relief Panel Workers will be required to attend meetings as required, attend training and accept a minimum number of shifts per month to remain on the panel. They are required to have flexible availability to cover shifts as required during the day, night and weekend shifts.

What You'll Need:

Minimum Level 6 qualification in Social Care or related fieldAt least 1 year's experience in a support or care settingStrong communication, IT, and record-keeping skillsUnderstanding of domestic abuse and safeguarding practicesAbility to work as part of a flexible, caring teamDesirable: Experience with residential or complex needs services
