Your new company A family-owned and operated construction and contracting SME, with a turnover of over €10 million. A family-oriented company with really long tenure amongst their employees, this role is opening up as a succession plan to grow into the future Finance Director.This is ideally a fully office based role, although there would be flexibility to work 1 day a week from home and there is definitely flexibility on hours to accommodate any personal requirements and facilitate work-life balance.Your new role You will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, with full responsibility for the finance function, accountancy and taxation compliance, cashflow management and reporting on project profitability. Your duties will include but are not limited to:Manage cashflow and treasury, management of banking and banking relationshipsLead the annual audit processMonth end close - AR/AP/Payroll/Bank and balance sheet recs/payment approvalsWIP reporting and variance analysis to budget on all projects, reporting on profitability, advising Directors on sameTax compliance management on ROSCompany secretarial dutiesManage company insurance, motor, pension and other ad-hoc requirementsAutomate and digitise where possibleWhat you'll need to succeed You will be a fully qualified accountant with a minimum of 3 years' PQE in the construction/engineering industryKnowledge of RCT & WIP reporting experience is a must-haveDesire to commit long-term and progress to Finance DirectorExperience with cashflow management and managing costs in a project-based environmentAbility to manage finance function in a hands-on capacity, in a manual, paper-based environmentExperience with bringing a company into a cloud/digital set-up advantageousWhat you'll get in return You will be rewarded with a salary of €80,000 - €85,000 with a 5% pension, discretionary bonus, 20 days annual leave, free parking, and flexible working hours. This Financial Controller job is set to progress to a Directorship role so career progression will be excellent here, with the opportunity for a tech-savvy Financial Controller to automate this finance function.
