Programmes & Development Officer
Making Connections is looking for an energetic team player with a winning combination of professional skills and ambition.
CONTRACT: Full-time, permanent (subject to funding).
SALARY: €35,000 - €40,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
LOCATION: Dublin-based – flexibility to work from home and travel required for programme delivery, meetings, etc. Candidates for this role must be based in Dublin.
BACKGROUND
Making Connections is a Dublin-based, volunteer-led non-profit organisation with a mission to alleviate loneliness and isolation among people aged 65+. The organisation empowers individuals to age well in their own homes and stay connected to their communities. Through a range of individualised and group supports, Making Connections helps people over 65 to maintain their health, independence, and social connections. Working in partnership with HSE, key initiatives include Walking Programmes, community activity support, befriending visits, assistance with digital devices, and the provision of information and signposting services.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Programmes & Development Officer role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives while developing a broad set of skills in programme delivery, community engagement, and organisational support. Making Connections is looking for an energetic team player with a winning combination of professional skills and ambition.
In this varied role, you’ll coordinate community-based programmes, engage and support a team of volunteers, build relationships with stakeholders and partners, and contribute to fundraising, reporting, and compliance. You’ll bring hands-on experience in programme or service delivery, ideally within the non-profit, community, or social care sector. Confidence in working with volunteers, managing relationships, and supporting fundraising activities is key, along with strong IT and Excel skills and an aptitude for systems and processes.
Resourceful and positive, you take initiative, enjoy variety, and thrive in a role where you can make a real impact. Above all, you’re motivated by our mission to alleviate loneliness and isolation in the community.
If you are mission-driven, motivated to achieve results, grounded, and eager to contribute to a larger purpose, we’d love to hear from you.
