IT Support level 2- 3Dún LaoghaireImmediate Start €51, per annum Grade 5This is a senior-level technical role responsible for the support, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of ICT infrastructure and services across the organisation. The role involves providing second and third-level support for both clinical and non-clinical systems, overseeing installations and configurations, and ensuring systems remain secure, efficient, and aligned with best practices.The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, be self-motivated, demonstrate leadership and communication skills, and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide senior-level support and troubleshooting for core ICT systemsManage installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and softwareAct as technical lead on major application and system implementationsBuild and configure new servers and environmentsSupport and maintain cybersecurity tools and protocolsCollaborate with third-party vendors to manage system integrations and service deliveryEnsure documentation and compliance with relevant ICT standards and policiesAssist in ICT project planning and deliveryProvide input into IT strategy and service improvement initiativesEssential ExperienceIn-depth knowledge of Cisco ASA firewallsExperience leading major application installationsStrong background in Microsoft Server infrastructureExperience in ICT project managementFamiliarity with cybersecurity tools and processesComfortable working with third-party service providersWorking knowledge of wireless infrastructure, SAN (Storage Area Network), and Fibre ChannelDesirable ExperienceExperience with VMware vCenter/vSphere in high-availability environmentsFamiliarity with LAN networking devices and associated systemsExperience with Veeam Enterprise Backup solutionsSAN network topology and management experienceMicrosoft or Cisco certificationsPrevious experience in a healthcare, education, or regulated sector is a plusQualifications & RequirementsHonours degree or postgraduate qualification in Computing / ITMinimum 3 years' experience in a similar ICT support or infrastructure roleStrong knowledge of:LAN/WAN/VLAN topologiesTCP/IPActive DirectoryVirtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware)Windows ServerVeeam backup solutionsMCP, CCNA or CCNP certification requiredExcellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skillsAbility to work independently and collaborativelyA strong commitment to customer service and continuous improvementKey Competencies & SkillsExcellent communication and presentation skillsStrong focus on customer service and supportAnalytical thinking and problem-solving abilitiesProven initiative and a proactive approach to workEffective time management and ability to prioritise tasksHigh level of motivation and ability to work under minimal supervisionAdaptable and flexible approach to working in a dynamic environmentOther InformationThis job description is intended to give a broad overview of the key responsibilities and expectations of the role.
