Limerick Traveller Network Coordinator As the LTN Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing and supporting the facilitation skills of LTN Support workers. As the LTN Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing and supporting the facilitation skills of LTN Support workers, fostering their leadership abilities, and promoting effective decision-making within the network. You will mentor LTN Support Workers and representatives in setting up organisational structures and provide guidance for supporting LTN Outreach and Information Workers. Additionally, you will ensure that the Limerick Traveller Network maintains a bottom-up approach, emphasizing communication and engagement with Traveller residents. This role also involves becoming a member of the Exchange House Ireland Management Team and collaborating with various departments and staff members. You will play a vital role in establishing interagency and partnership structures to coordinate supports for the Traveller community in Limerick.Key Responsibilities:Develop LTN Support worker facilitation skills and support their leadership of network representatives, fostering effective group and community decision-makingMentor LTN Support Workers and representatives in setting up organisational structures and providing supportSupport LTN Support Workers in mentoring LTN Outreach and Information WorkersEnsure that the LTN operates from a bottom-up approach, with communication and engagement with Traveller residents as the foundation for all actionsBecome a member of the Exchange House Ireland Management Team and liaise with other departments and staffSupport and guide LTN Support Workers in establishing interagency and partnership structures to collaborate and coordinate supports for the Traveller community in LimerickShadow LTN Support Workers and LTN Outreach & Information Workers to provide guidance and supportIdentify sources of funding and submit applications as needed or directed by LTN word the EHINTS structure for approvalSupport the process of developing a 3-year strategy and annual work plans for the Limerick Traveller NetworkSupport and facilitate in collaboration with Exchange House Ireland and Limerick Traveller Network structures the design of a specific roadmap defining stages and milestones to reach to ensure LTN becomes an independent legal entity and all key inputs, resources and stakeholders necessary for each stageCommunication – Support and facilitate the establishment communication among Network members, staff and the community and ensure safe communication and agreed protocols for all social media or media, including press releases, interviews, etc.General Duties and Responsibilities:Support and facilitate the planning, development, and implementation of actions and programs using a community development approach to benefit the Traveller community in LimerickCollaborate with Exchange House Ireland in formulating and revising policies and procedures for the Limerick Traveller NetworkMaintain the LTN's bottom-up approach, regularly reaching out to and engaging with Traveller residents in represented sites and housing areasSupport the development of the Limerick Traveller Network's vision as a representative structure for the Traveller community in LimerickDevelop the leadership skills of all Traveller representatives on the Network and enhance their capacity to work collectivelySupport the necessary steps to establish the Limerick Traveller Network as an independent organisation, as agreed with Network representatives and Exchange House IrelandCoordinate a team of Support Workers and Outreach and Information Workers, ensuring the delivery of agreed objectives and effective communicationConduct regular supervision with team members, mentoring them in leadership, facilitation, and delivery skills aligned with organisational and strategic plans and community development principlesOrganise Continual Professional Development (CPD) opportunities for the teamShadow, coach, and support LTN Support Workers and Outreach and Information Workers to improve their confidence, skills, and abilities required to operate an independent Traveller organization in Limerick, following human rights and community development approachesTake responsibility for child protection and safeguarding at the Limerick Traveller Network hub, in accordance with Exchange House Ireland policies and proceduresCompile reports, collect data, and provide information to management structures, including the CEO and any LTN management structures that may developMaintain client and project records in compliance with GDPR and Exchange House Ireland policies, as well as any other policies developed within the Limerick Traveller Network structuresPropose, develop, and implement mechanisms for evaluating services, actions, and programs delivered by the Limerick Traveller Network, following Exchange House Ireland policies and procedures, or any other policies developed within the Limerick Traveller Network structuresStay updated with national developments in Traveller legislation and practice and the NGO sector, keeping the LTN informedCollaborate with other services, staff, and external agencies to improve the effectiveness of servicesParticipate in developing and implementing best practices for health and safety policies in line with national and EU legislation and regulationsIdentify sources of funding and support staff in submitting applications as needed or directed by LTNFulfil other duties as required by the CEO or any LTN management structures that may developCommunicate with CEO and Finance Manager in EHINTS regarding budgets, equipment, expenses and other financial issues with the view that in the future LTN will take on more fiscal responsibility over the course of the collaborationStaff Management:Report to the Exchange House Ireland CEO as the Line ManagerManage and supervise staff in the Limerick Traveller NetworkActively participate as a member of the wider Exchange House Ireland Management TeamImplement strategies and programs, conduct ongoing reviews and evaluationsDefine clear actions, responsibilities, group targets, and indicators for delivery on an annual and quarterly basis in consultation with the staff teamConduct staff performance reviews, coordinate ongoing training and development for all team membersFacilitate regular team and program meetingsEnsure effective communication between the team, other areas of the organisation, and external stakeholdersEnsure staff adherence to relevant legislative, governance, and best practice policies and proceduresParticipate in recruitment, retention, and management of staff vacanciesQuality Service Provision:Ensure service adherence to relevant legislative, governance, and best practice policies and proceduresProvide a quality service in line with funding agreements and best practicesLead team quality auditing according to internal and external requirementsDevelop and review documentation, including program development, safety protocols, policies, procedures, and internal record-keepingPerson SpecificationQualifications Minimum of 2 years of supervisory and people management work experience relevant to the post (i.e. administration, project management, training or other)Minimum of Level 7 Degree award or equivalent or knowledge and experience that is considered an adequate replacement of thisEssential CriteriaExperience of working with the Traveller community using a community development approachExperience in management/ co-ordination of Community Development projectsExperience in submitting funding applications and report writing and funding managementExperience in working in partnership with other organisationsDesirable criteriaQualification in Community Development field or similar area of workExperience in setting up and supporting the development of community organisationsExperience in group and team facilitation as well as strong general communication skillsExcellent report writing and computer skillsExperience of project management including administration and budget managementAbility to identify sources of funding, liaise with funders and write funding applications and reports to a high standardAn understanding and motivation to work Salary12-month contract.Limerick Traveller Network Coordinator (pro-rata): €51,722 to €61,865 (Local Government Grade 5)We offer 26 days annual leave (pro rata) and access to our pension scheme.
