Reperio has partnered with an established European product company who are looking for a Mid-Level PHP Backend Developer to join their growing engineering team in Dublin. This team is responsible for powering the backend systems that drive the search and catalog experience on a high-traffic, customer-facing platform.

This is a great opportunity for a backend developer looking to work in a modern environment with strong engineering practices and the chance to grow alongside a collaborative, product-led team.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain backend services using PHP 7/8 and SymfonyBuild and support REST APIs for product discovery and shopping experienceCollaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and QA engineersContribute to solution design and participate in architecture discussionsMaintain and improve MySQL-based data models and queriesWrite clean, testable code and participate in automated testing practicesWork with Docker and CI/CD pipelines to support deployment processesAssist with ongoing improvements to code quality, development workflow, and system performance

Requirements:

2-4 years of experience in backend software developmentSolid experience with PHP (preferably Symfony or similar modern framework)Strong understanding of REST API development and backend architectureProficiency in relational databases, especially MySQLExperience with Git and Docker in a collaborative team environmentKnowledge of clean code principles and development best practicesWillingness to take ownership of tasks and contribute to team goalsGood communication and problem-solving skills

Desirable:

Exposure to Elasticsearch, Redis, or RabbitMQExperience working on high-traffic or customer-facing platformsFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated test suitesUnderstanding of software architecture principles or Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
