HR MANAGER
Join a dynamic and forward-thinking sports organisation based in the West of Ireland. This prominent body plays a vital role in shaping the future of sport in the region, offering an exciting opportunity for a strategic and people-focused HR professional to make a meaningful impact. With a culture centred on collaboration, growth, and excellence, the organisation is committed to fostering a positive working environment and driving continuous improvement in its people strategies. This is a 3-year fixed-term contract offering a hybrid work model (minimum three days onsite, with flexibility required during busy periods).
RESPONSIBILITIES
·Foster a positive work culture through effective employee engagement initiatives
·Identify training and development needs in collaboration with department heads
·Support and enhance the organisation's performance management systems
·Provide HR guidance and support to all staff and management levels
·Maintain and manage the HR system and employee database
·Administer recruitment processes, including interview panel participation
·Draft employment contracts for staff and players
·Coordinate work permit applications and renewals
·Collaborate with governing bodies on HR matters such as onboarding and offboarding
·Oversee the entire employee lifecycle
·Advise on statutory leave entitlements (e.g., maternity, paternity, parental, sick leave)
·Administer and manage employee benefit programmes
·Monitor employment legislation and implement policy updates accordingly
·Clearly communicate HR initiatives and policy changes
·Liaise with external HR and payroll partners on employee matters
·Process monthly payroll amendments with the Finance team
·Act as the key contact for industrial and employee relations
·Support player development managers on HR-related issues
·Lead or contribute to HR project work and new initiatives
·Undertake additional duties as required by senior leadership
REQUIREMENTS
·Degree or postgraduate diploma in a relevant business discipline
·Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Head of HR/People & Development role
·Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills
·Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
·Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships
·Solid understanding of employment legislation and HR practices
·Experienced in coaching and mentoring
·Proficiency with HR systems and tools
·Membership of the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development)
