Salary: Band DYS €34,513 to €49,913
Reporting to: Youth Service Manager/Team Leader
The Role: General ResponsibilitiesAssessing and responding to the needs of young people at risk of offending or re-offending.Engaging, building and maintaining strong, positive relationships with the target group on both a one-to-one and group basis.Engaging young people in a process of learning and development that will enable them to examine their own offending and make positive lifestyle choices that will protect them from involvement in criminal, harmful or socially unacceptable behaviours.Designing, implementing and evaluating creative and responsive outcomes-focused case plans and interventions for project participants.Targeting young people under the "Early Intervention" model (8-11 years) to divert them from entering the Youth Diversion Project.Operating in accordance with the YDP Operational Requirements.Completing accurately and on time administrative requirements of the project.Attending YDP advisory committee and referral assessment committee meetings as required and preparation of reports for same.Networking, co-operating, and enlisting the support of other agencies/organisations and community groups to enhance the development opportunities for project participants.Attending and completing all training provided by Crosscare and Irish Youth Justice, to support the work within the project.Building and maintaining relationships with local stakeholders, particularly An Garda Síochána and other services engaged with young people in the catchment area.Administration, budget and resource management including compiling plans and reports as required.Personal AttributesCreativity & InnovationFlexibility and adaptabilityFacilitation and group work skillsEmpathy and understandingAbility to work on own initiativeStrong leadership skillsMinimum Requirements: Be in possession of a third level qualification in youth work and a minimum of 2 years' experience working with young people at risk.Experience of dealing with Child Safeguarding Issues.In Crosscare, we approach our work with an attitude of service, showing love, care and kindness in all interactions with others.
