Position Overview: Reporting to the Smurfit Westrock General Counsel, the Chief Compliance Officer will be a critical member of the Legal and Compliance leadership team and will be responsible for overseeing enterprise compliance initiatives and for ensuring that the global organization is in compliance with all laws, regulatory requirements, data privacy statutes, and compliance policies.
The CCO is also responsible for supporting the maintenance of a strong compliance culture, for compliance program governance, and for establishing global standards and procedures that are effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting, and correcting noncompliance with applicable global laws and regulations.
The Chief Compliance Officer will drive the development and implementation of worldwide, best-in-class compliance programs including standards of conduct, best practices procedures and policies, training programs, and internal monitoring and investigations.
The person in this role will act as a strategic business partner to senior leadership and will coordinate global compliance activities across the Company.
Experience: 10+ years of international compliance program leadership experience, or the equivalent, preferably including exposure to U.S., European and other corporate compliance best practices, anti-corruption, competition law, sanctions, fraud, conflicts of interest, internal investigations, and cyber security.
Location/Relocation: Dublin, Ireland preferred.
This is an international search.
The company has an in-office policy.
Travel: International travel is expected on a regular basis to the US and countries where Smurfit Westrock operates.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
The package includes base salary, target bonus, participation in the company's long term incentive plan, and benefits.
