MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:To assist the Chief Engineer in ensuring that the hotels facilities function without interruption so that all departments can operate efficiently.
You must assist with all engineering requirements within the hotel to ensure that facilities maintained, serviced and repaired to the highest standards at all times as required by the Directors and in line with any legal requirements.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Attend shift briefings to understand daily requirements.
Follow SOPs and company policies.
Assist in documenting and ensuring quality standards.
Provide immediate service to guests and coordinate with Housekeeping and Front Office for room readiness.
Report defects to Chief Engineer and address them promptly.
Manage work allocation and attend to complaints/job requests from other departments.
Assist with engineering compliance, maintenance planning, and prioritization.
Ensure prompt resolution of maintenance issues to maintain high standards.
Maintain positive inter-departmental relations and support the upkeep of electrical, plumbing, lighting, and other systems.
Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with safety regulations.
Assist with contractor performance monitoring and property audits.
Promote energy efficiency and environmental awareness.
Support statutory safety testing, health and safety practices, and service contract management.
Act as Fire Marshall and follow emergency procedures.
Complete checklists and reports on time.
Assist in budget preparation, cost control, and stock management.
Liaise with contractors and suppliers to ensure service standards and cost effectiveness.
The ideal candidate should have: Engineering / Maintenance experience is required.
Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills Hands on and can do approach to work and very strong work ethic Flexible working availability - will cover late shifts and weekends.
