About the Role: We are seeking a highly experienced Level 7 Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team, supporting mission-critical systems in the finance and payments industry.
This role involves designing and maintaining secure, highly available, and scalable financial infrastructure while ensuring regulatory compliance, security, and real-time transaction processing.
Key Responsibilities: Architect, build, and optimize highly available payment processing platforms.
Ensure PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, and financial regulatory compliance for all systems.
Implement real-time monitoring, alerting, and observability to ensure service reliability.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
Automate operational workflows with Python, Go, or Bash scripting.
Manage Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for scaling payment systems.
Design and maintain secure APIs for payments, ensuring PSD2/Open Banking compliance.
Optimize CI/CD pipelines for secure and controlled software releases in financial environments.
Troubleshoot high-volume, low-latency transactions with a focus on performance tuning.
Manage incident response, post-mortems, and root cause analysis (RCA) for critical failures.
Collaborate with security teams to implement encryption, access controls, and fraud detection mechanisms.
Integrate message queues and event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS) to handle large transaction volumes.
Required Skills & Experience: 10+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Cloud Engineering.
Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Kubernetes.
Strong knowledge of payment processing technologies (SWIFT, SEPA, RTP, Visa/Mastercard, Open Banking APIs).
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK, Splunk).
Advanced knowledge of network security, TLS, encryption, IAM, and role-based access control (RBAC).
Proficiency in automated deployment and CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD.
Strong problem-solving skills with expertise in high-availability and disaster recovery strategies.
Hands-on experience with distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry, Jaeger, Zipkin) for transaction debugging.
Experience working in highly regulated financial environments with security-first engineering practices.
Familiarity with message brokers and event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS Kinesis).
Preferred Qualifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Kubernetes (CKA), or Security certifications.
Experience with blockchain and digital payment technologies.
Knowledge of real-time fraud detection and risk management systems.
