Bring your passion, bring your energy, and be part of a global team that appreciates a simple truth: Diversity + Collaboration = Great Innovation The Opportunity Electrical project engineer maintains the next-generation technologies in High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) that enable to transmit electricity over long distances and via submarine cables which provides billions to access electricity.
As an electrical project engineer, you will work in the HVDC service organisation and will primarily be responsible for working at the East West Interconnector along with other Hitachi Energy HVDC customer sites throughout the UK and Ireland but primarily the Portan HVDC Converter Station.
Duties will include supporting all aspects of the Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSA) contracts of new and existing client sites.
You will work closely with the local Service Team and our support partners to provide high level engineering support to our 1st & 2nd line support engineers.
Also, you will provide 1st line support along with maintenance & repair services for the EWIC LTSA.
You will work closely with the existing Service Team to gain the competencies to provide 1st line support.
This 1st line support will require 24/7/365 on-call on a 1 week in 4 rota with a fast response time to site.
You'll make an impact by Maintaining a strong relationship with our valued customersSupporting all aspects of the LTSA contracts of new and existing client sitesProviding engineering and technical support for the HVDC Service team in the UK & Ireland.Working together with the Operations manager in the Development & Competency Management planning of personnel including training and certification of support staff ensuring we have the proper, skilled, and competent staff in place.Attend Factory System Tests (FST) when requested.Responsibility of Maintenance Management system and development of maintenance procedures to the local regulatory requirements.Facilitate availability reporting & Cigre reporting.Work closely with the HSEQ advisor to develop, review and improve existing and new procedures and policies.Your background An undergraduate Engineering degree with 2+ years relevant experience in HV power systems.Maintenance / fault finding experience with HV and LV equipment.Experience in delivering technical reports and fault analysis.Experience working with maintenance management systems and creating detailed work packs.Experience creating, reviewing and approving high level policy and procedural documents.An ability to be able to present detailed training and technical talks.Ideal candidate has good communication, the ability to work under pressure, initiative and strong team player.Fluent written & spoken English.A full clean driving license with access to a car.What we offer Flexible working timeHealth care and wellness allowanceFantastic career possibilities within Hitachi Energy both within Ireland and globallyMentor to support you throughout onboard phaseVarious trainings and education supporting employee developmentDiversified companySupplementary compensation for parental leaveLocation This position will be based in Portan HVDC Converter Station, Co Meath Red Road, Batterstown, Co Meath.
