The Dublin-based team will play a critical role in our continued digital transformation and will function as a center of excellence for SiriusXM's global Product and Technology organization. SiriusXM's new Dublin facility will comprise a workforce primarily focused on software development, automotive technology and engineering, AdTech, data science, and analytics.
Talent based in the new technology hub will be charged with developing and implementing best-in-class standards for high-quality, scalable software deliveries for SiriusXM's streaming and in-vehicle audio entertainment platforms. The Platform Engineering team is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to help architect, manage, and evangelize SiriusXM's AWS-based developer platform across the Technology org.
The perfect candidate has extensive experience in architecting, migrating, and modernizing infrastructure to use public cloud services securely and cost-effectively.
As a senior member of Platform Engineering, this person will be a trusted advisor to application and infrastructure teams, helping to develop architectural guidance and patterns for cloud-native applications.
They will contribute to the strategic planning and implementation of enterprise initiatives and must be capable of communicating enterprise cloud strategy and influencing stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background to drive implementation efforts and be an effective communicator to interact effectively at the executive to drive implementation efforts. What you'll do: Promote and facilitate adoption of the enterprise cloud strategy at scaleSupport the implementation of enterprise cloud initiatives, including strategicalignment, design, implementation, automation, production readiness, and documentationDesign and develop automation solutions for cloud platform managementPartner with Platform Engineering product managers to identify user needs and clarify requirementsSupport other teams, work collaboratively with other team members, communicate effectively, and foster team successJump into troubleshooting efforts as neededWhat you'll need: 7+ years of relevant cloud/devops/software engineering experience2+ years of cloud solution architecture experience or equivalentAWS Solution Architect Professional Certification or equivalentExperience defining and managing cloud infrastructure as codeDemonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, build and convey compelling value propositions and work cross-organizationally to build consensusIn-depth understanding of deploying applications fully on cloud-native (AWS) servicesKnowledge of foundational infrastructure components - e.g., IP networking, VPNs, DNS, firewalling, IAM/authentication, and load balancingExperience developing and deploying large, distributed cloud-hosted systems and the required operational models for stable application availabilityExperience supporting application, operations, and security teams including the ability to provide ongoing architecture and implementation supportProven ability to cleanly document, promote, and present your work to other teams and to customersDemonstrated effectiveness working across multiple business units to achieve resultsCommitment to "internal client" and customer service principles.Hands-on experience with:Executing cloud initiatives in a large distributed organizationDeveloping and communicating cloud-native architecture patternsDesigning and implementing cloud-native cost-effective solutions on AWSDesigning cost-effective multi-region disaster recovery capabilitiesSoftware Development Lifecycle in an agile environmentExtra credit: familiarityExperience with CloudFormation and AWS CDKIT Service Management and common ITIL frameworks that support comprehensive infrastructure and application operations support modelsContainerization platforms and serverless computing (Docker, AWS ECS, AWS Lambda)Design, build, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and associated tooling (e.g.
