As a Senior Software Development Engineer on our team, you'll help build and manage services that detect and automate the mitigation of cybersecurity threats across Amazon's infrastructure, including advanced persistent threats.
You'll work with security engineers and data scientists, and help lead other software development engineers across multiple teams to develop innovative security solutions at a massive scale.
Our services protect the AWS cloud for all customers and help preserve our customers' trust in us.
You'll get to use the full power and breadth of AWS technologies to build services that proactively protect every single AWS customer, both internally and externally, from security threats – not many teams can say that

Key job responsibilities Collaborate with data scientists and security engineers to build automated security detection and mitigation workflowsDesign scalable architectures for low-latency, big data processingImprove the observability, performance, and efficiency of our existing systemsRaise the bar for testing, repeatability, automation, and operational excellenceServe as a team and tech leadMentor and develop teammates, both technically and professionallySeek out, develop, and advocate for new technologies BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience5+ years of experience programming with at least one software programming language4+ years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems (including design patterns, reliability and scaling)1+ years of experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering teamSuccessful applicants must have the legal right to work in Ireland PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experienceExperience with large-scale data processing and analysisExperience working with cybersecurity teams Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
