Data Scientist Role

We are seeking a Data Scientist to uncover valuable insights by linking and analysing diverse data sets. This role involves cleaning and preparing data, performing descriptive and exploratory analysis, developing predictive and AI models, implementing practical applications of Generative AI and large language models (LLMs), and building dashboards to communicate findings effectively.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in translating complex data-driven insights into clear, actionable recommendations for business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Link diverse data sets to discover new insights, work with potentially incomplete data sources
  • Clean and prepare data for analysis
  • Perform descriptive and exploratory data analysis
  • Develop and validate predictive and AI models
  • Implement practical applications of GenAI and LLMs
  • Build dashboards to generate insights and communicate analysis results to the business
  • Act as a consultant on client engagements and lead complex projects/programmes
  • Lead high-performing teams and coordinate contributions of other specialists to complete projects
Your Profile:
  • Honours degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 6 years professional experience as a Data Scientist
  • Expertise in data processing, SQL programming, and data analytics
  • Proficient in statistical data programming (e.g. R & Python) and familiarity with associated packages/libraries (e.g. Caret, Pandas, NumPy, Scikit Learn etc)
  • Background in data mining and statistical analysis
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Github, GenAI tools, and LLMs
  • Understanding of data structures and commonly used methodologies for data transformation
  • Able to explain complex statistical concepts to non-technical users
  • Business strategy skills to align algorithms and determine useful insights and results
  • Implications of GDPR and the AI Act for data science applications
