Job Description Psychosis Research Centre Coordinator Full time for a 12-month period St John of God Psychosis Research Centre The St John of God Psychosis Research Centre is a new research centre that aims to bring together the vast experience in psychosis research that exists across St John of God entities.
The new research centre will harness the expertise in psychosis research across services, coordinate efforts to design and pursue a programme of research which will provide a framework for synergistic psychosis research to be pursued across SJOG services.
The output of the research will inform the delivery of psychosis treatment across SJOG services and will continue to contribute to the global literature.
The research centre will play a major role in research training and in producing future leaders in psychosis research.
The research centre shall pursue funding opportunities to advance its work across the domains of research, education, and impact.
Role Description: The position is based in the St John of God Research Foundation and the post-holder will report to the CEO.
The Coordinator of the Psychosis Research Centre will initiate and implement goals and strategies geared towards the development and maintenance of the Psychosis Research Centre.
As a new initiative, a key role for the Coordinator will be to establish a membership group, maintain the confidence and cooperation of the members, lead the development of a strategy, and create an environment conducive to intellectual and research growth.
The Coordinator will be responsible for laying the groundwork for a highly functioning research centre, along with the development of its vision and strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities: Lead the development of the research centre membership group and internal governance structure.
Help to develop a vision and strategy for the research centre that supports the strategic priorities of the Saint John of God Research Foundation clg and Saint John of God Hospitaller Services Group clg.
Produce a Terms of Reference for the Psychosis Research Centre.
Together with members, identify research themes to guide psychosis research activity Manage the research plan effectively and efficiently, and ensure that accepted standards of research and ethical behaviour are met Enhance the reputation of the research centre and the Research Foundation by supporting quality research and communicating that research to society Promote and facilitate collaborative and interdisciplinary research Develop a research fellowship scheme Identify and pursue opportunities for the Psychosis Research Centre to establish collaborations with other research institutions, funders and universities nationally and internationally Promote the image of SJOG Research Foundation Reporting: The Centre Coordinator reports to the CEO of the St John of God Research Foundation and will be required to provide regular updates, against key performance indicators, to the Board of Directors of the Research Foundation.
Qualifications and Experience: Essential: Candidates will have a Masters qualification in psychology or related discipline At least 3 years relevant experience in a similar role A track record in project management Experience in successfully leading and/or supporting teams Strong interest in mental health research, and experience of attracting research funding.
