Scopely is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer (Platform) to join our unannounced project in Dublin, the UK, Portugal or Barcelona on a remote or hybrid basis working 3 days a week from the hub.

We are a global team of game lovers who are developing, publishing and innovating the mobile games industry, connecting millions of people around the world daily.We are in the early stages of development on an ambitious, unannounced, cross-platform Strategy/MMO title, creating a team of talented and passionate game makers to join us on this exciting journeyWhat You Will DoWe are looking for a Full Stack Engineer with a strong focus on modern web development to help build and maintain the backend for our Game LiveOps platform.
In this role, you'll work closely with product teams, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-performance tools and features that support real-time operations and engaging gameplay experiences.End-to-End Development: Build and maintain full stack web applications and internal tools, from front-end UI/UX to backend APIsLiveOps & Live Services: Develop and optimize features that support live game operations, empowering our designers and operators with real-time control and insightsCollaboration & Communication: Work closely with product teams, game designers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, plan technical solutions, and ensure successful deploymentsScalable Solutions: Design and implement high-performance, low-latency web services in a cloud environment (AWS preferred) that can handle millions of playersAutomation & Best Practices: Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, implement automated tests, and ensure high standards of code quality and maintainabilityInfrastructure & Deployment: Utilize containerization (Docker) and infrastructure-as-code practices to deliver reliable, repeatable, and efficient deployment processesTechnical Guidance: Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture planning to ensure best practices and continuous improvementWhat We're Looking ForProven Experience: Several years of professional experience as a software engineer, with a strong foundation in programming and web developmentBackend Proficiency: Hands-on experience in modern backend languages (Python strongly preferred; Go or C# also a plus) and a willingness to learn new technologiesWeb Technologies: Solid understanding of RESTful services and modern web frameworks ( or Angular preferred).
Experience with JavaScript (ES6), TypeScript, and CSS preprocessors (., SCSS) is essentialDatabase Expertise: Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL/Postgres) and caching solutions (Redis).
Capable of writing efficient queries and designing schemas for low-latency environmentsCloud & Containers: Experience with containerized solutions (Docker) in a public cloud environment (AWS preferred).
Infrastructure-as-code (., Terraform, CloudFormation) is a bonus.Automation & CI/CD: Demonstrated ability to set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, and load testing for robust production deploymentsEngineering Best Practices: Committed to writing clean, maintainable, and testable code, with an emphasis on performance and scalabilityStrong Communicator: Comfortable discussing complex technical concepts with non-technical team members and collaborating with diverse teams
