Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer 1540SimoTech is seeking a Project Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer to support our client, a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant based in Cork.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, installing and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems to support pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance, safety, and efficiency while delivering high-quality project solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform project engineering work on electrical systems, process controllers and electrical safety systems.Complete IO schedules, hardware design specifications, and instrumentation designs specifications.Complete power calculations, cable sizing, variable speed drive selection and switchgear sizing, to ensure compliance with industry standards.Identify service quality issues in electrical and instrumentation systems and propose corrective actions.Review and approval of vendor designs covering drawings, IO lists and specifications.Review and approval of vendor handover packs.Manage relationships with electrical suppliers and contractors.Supervise and control project activities for proper implementation and meet project milestones.Ensure compliance to site safety procedures.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.Minimum of 7 years of experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries.Proficiency in designing of electrical, instrumentation and control systems.Experience in building IO schedules, cable sizing and power calculations.Proficiency in variable speed drives, switchgear, and instrumentation design/selection.Good understanding of the calibration process and general instrument service.Be familiar with process controllers (DCS and PLC) and safety systems.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems and processes.Knowledge of GMP manufacturing process e.g.filling machines and utility equipment is highly beneficial.What SimoTech Can OfferRole provides a high degree of autonomy to allow the successful candidate to reach their full potential.Develop new skills and enhance technical ability by working with innovative technologies in a multi-disciplined environment.Opportunity to work with large corporate clients on exciting capital projects.By submitting my data (CV), I consent to SimoTech collecting and storing my personal data, as outlined in the SimoTech Privacy Statement which I have read.
