Business Sector: Ingredients   Job Title: Production Supervisor-Butter & Separation JOB PURPOSE: Day supervision role responsible for for the effective and efficient operation of both Separation and Butter making departments.
Taking ownership and accountability for the individual departments' performance against agreed targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) ensuring continuous improvement across all key operational metrics.
Achieved through highly trained people and efficient processes with effective engagement and development of shift operators in a lean manufacturing environment.
  REPORTING TO:     Production Manager, Basic Ingredients LOCATION: Nenagh, Co. Tipperary RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities associated with this Supervisor role include, but are not limited to the following: Take a proactive approach to managing all aspects of processing and packing on shift identifying and supporting opportunities for continuous improvement Work closely with the Production Manager and Operations Manager to achieve key performance operational KPIs Monitor all process controls points on a continuous basis taking appropriate action as necessary to optimise and maintain product specification whilst maximising line efficiencies and minimising waste.
Escalate any process or quality issue that cannot be adequately addressed by changes within normal operating parameters.
Ensure timely and accurate records are maintained and that all operational checks are carried out and documented.
Reviewing and analysing trends and proactively reporting results and actions.
Inform maintenance of potential and actual electrical/mechanical problems and follow through to completion to avoid and minimise downtime.
Promote effective problem solving involving all team members through the use of a formal structured process. Recording the issue, thought process and actions identified and delivered. Managing performance where necessary through a formal structured process Identify improvement opportunities to improve safety, quality and operational efficiency including waste minimisation Complete special projects and assignments as requested.
Provide clear leadership to the production teams developing a culture of engagement through involvement.
Set clear standards and expectations for each direct report and hold them accountable for delivery.
Coach and develop direct reports through regular one-to-ones and a formal performance review process.
Ensure all operators have received effective and formal training appropriate for the role.
Manage rosters, holidays and absenteeism within the department, arranging cover for absences as required.
Prepare comprehensive shift reports detailing department performance vs targets and standards and ensuring adequate and appropriate detail and explanation on any variances and the corrective action taken.
Work closely with QA Shift Technician to ensure correct clean down and site GMP standards are achieved and maintained within the department.
Monitor product code specifications to ensure good quality is consistently achieved.
Proactively support the on-going development of safety through effective leading KPIs Progressively make the work environment safer through Risk assessments, hazard registers and elimination of hazards in the workplace.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE: Food/ Science or Process/Engineering/Production Management Degree or equivalent is desirable.
Experience in a production role in a Food processing environment a distinct advantage   KEY SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES / CORE COMPETENCIES: Experience in a production role in a food processing environment including previous experience as a team leader/shift manager or equivalent with proven leadership skills Possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
Appetite to drive safety improvements through team engagement and company HSE initiatives.
Demonstrates dependability and flexibility to handle various challenges.
Keen technical mindset with a desire to continuously improve people, process and machine Strong ability to work in a team, whilst being able to lead, work on own initiatives and delegate to other functions.
Clear communication to all levels including to Leadership team.
Adaptable to short and long term change.
Strong computer skills incl.
