About the role: Year 2 Classroom Teacher - Terms 3 & 4, 2025
Employment Type: Permanent Part Time (0.8 FTE)Start Date: 21 July 2025This contract position at South Coast Baptist College is for Terms 3 & 4 of 2025, with the potential to become ongoing.
The role involves teaching one of three Year 2 classes in a Primary School of 680 students (Kindergarten to Year 6), following the West Australian Curriculum.
It is a four-day-per-week position, with possible opportunities for full-time employment.
Position Requirements: Deliver the Western Australian Curriculum in English, Mathematics, Science, HASS, Health, and Design Technologies.Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons.Assess and monitor student progress.Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.Experience with the Reggio Emilia approach is desirable.Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom culture.Handover from the current staff member in Term 2.Common DOTT time provided for team collaboration.Selection Criteria: Hold a valid teaching qualification and registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia, demonstrating a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum, particularly for Year 2.Experience in planning and delivering high-quality educational programs, with a focus on English, Mathematics, Science, HASS, and the Arts.Possess excellent classroom management skills, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of students.Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, effectively collaborating with colleagues, parents, and the broader school community.Demonstrate a commitment to the values and ethos of an independent/private school, along with the ability to inspire and engage students in their learning.Experience with the Reggio Emilia approach is desirable.Essential Criteria: A personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.Active participation in a church or Christian community, exemplifying Christian beliefs, behaviour, and practices.Acceptance of the College's Statement of Faith.Ability to build cooperative and supportive relationships with the Board, Principal, staff, students, and parents.Commitment to personal best practice.Ensure decisions are impartial, fact-based, and fair.Model appropriate and proper channels of communication.Consistently act in the best interests of the College and its ethos.Adherence to all policies and procedures outlined by SCBC.Commitment to maintaining a child-safe environment in line with the College's values and policies.Possession of the following certifications:National Police ClearanceWorking with Children CheckFirst Aid CertificateApplication Deadline: 21 April 2025
