Internal Auditor Permanent, Full-Time (Non-Profit Organisation) We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Internal Auditor to join our team.
Reporting to senior management, the Internal Auditor will play a key role in ensuring strong internal controls, governance, and risk management across their organisation.
The successful candidate will conduct independent audits, provide expert insights, and support process improvements.
The role requires travel per quarter across Ireland with occasional overnight stays Key Responsibilities Plan, execute, and complete audits of financial and operational processes in line with the Internal Audit Plan.
Prepare and deliver high-quality audit reports, including recommendations to senior management.
Conduct follow-up audits to ensure audit findings are addressed and implemented effectively.
Collaborate with finance, risk, and legal teams to enhance corporate governance and internal controls.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, promoting best practices in risk management.
Provide professional advice and challenge existing controls to drive continuous improvement.
Ensure audit assignments are completed within agreed timeframes.
Liaise with external auditors, responding to their findings and supporting compliance efforts.
Conduct payroll audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance with salary and pension processes.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness in financial and operational processes.
Key Requirements Minimum three years experience in internal or external audit.
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA) or equivalent professional qualification.
Knowledge of the charitable and/or public sector is an advantage.
Strong understanding of risk management, internal controls, and governance frameworks.
Proficiency in IT systems, with advanced Excel and Word skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently while engaging with multiple stakeholders.
Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
