Orwell Private includes Convalescence, Long Term Care, and an Acquired Brain Injury Unit.
Our second location, Orwell Queen of Peace specializes in Long Term Care.
Our vision is to provide a continuum of care in a friendly, homely but luxurious environment right in the heart of your own neighbourhood.
This continuum is made up of residential long and short-term care, Acquired Brain Injury Care, Dementia Care and Respite Care, along with a wide variety of conditions.
A friendly and supportive home care service is also provided for our more independent and self-reliant clients.
Orwell Healthcare has an exciting opportunity for an experienced KP , to join our Kitchen Team.
Our Kitchen operates seven days a week from 07.00 to 18.00.
This role requires a flexible shift roster over seven days.
The successful candidate will work as a member of the Kitchen Team, reporting directly to the Head Chef.
Professional Integrity: To operate in accordance with HIQA standards and the Health Act 2007 and other relevant legislation.
To be familiar with the requirements set out in the Care and Welfare of Residents in Designated Centres for Older People Regulations 2009 (SI 415 of 2013).
Be familiar with the Complaints Policy, Confidentiality Policy and the Safeguarding Policy and Acceptable Use of IT Policy.
To maintain a level of professional integrity in accordance with Orwell Healthcare policies and procedures, employment contract, philosophy of care and mission statement.
Professional Development: Demonstrate a willingness of professional development in view of continuous performance appraisals.
Responsibilities: Always maintain confidentiality of Orwell Healthcare information and residents.
Assist in ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and all preventative and recording procedures are applied.
Notify the management of any resident complaints/concerns so they can be dealt with efficiently and effectively.
Be aware of the security of Orwell Healthcare at all times, both in terms of access to the Orwell Healthcare property and the residents property.
Ensure all windows/ doors/ fridges/stores are locked before you leave the property.
Assist when needed with the transportation of food and goods to any other premises belonging to Orwell.
Duties of the Kitchen Porter include but not limited to: Assist Chef to clean the kitchen daily and with the scheduled deep cleaning.
Empty and clean waste bins Clean grease trap machines Maintain a high standard of hygiene throughout the kitchen Pot wash and clean additional equipment as scheduled To keep the kitchen fridges and freezers clean.
To accept deliveries by checking off the delivery vs the receipt.
To put deliveries away using stock rotation.
To advise the if theres any discrepancies with the deliveries.
