Role: Library Supervisor Type: Part-time with view to permanency Hours: 9 30am to 1 45 pm Monday to Friday during school term.
Salary:Negotiable Breaks:2 X 15 mins breaks St Joseph of Cluny, Killiney Secondary School is seeking a part time person to work in the school library from September 2025.
Thisroleisanintegralpart ofthewiderschool community, and so thecandidatemusthavea welcomingandprofessionalmannerasshewillinteractwitheachstudentwhoentersour schoollibrary.Inaddition,thecandidatewillalsobepartofthelargerschooladministrativeteamandso,mustbeabletoworkaspartofateamtoo.Genuineunderstandingofand empathytowardsstudentsisessentialinthisrole.
Thepersonrequiredfor this roleissomeonethatisnotonlypeopleoriented,butamultitasker,andhassomecomputer skills-trainingwillbeoffered.Thispersonwillbeanorganisedindividual.
This person must be efficient in addition to confidential and discrete.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Meetandgreetalluserstothelibrary.
Agenuineloveofbooks.
Monitoringstudentswithinthelibrary.
Dealingwiththereturning/withdrawalofbooksbystudents(trainingwillbeprovided).
Settingupoftheroomforanytalksthatwilltakeplacethere.
Supervisestudentsinthelibraryforlunchtime(settingupofgames/readingclub).
Enteringnewbooksintothelibrarysystem.
Ensuringthelibraryiskeptingoodorder.
Assisttheschoolprizecommittee.
Ad hoe administrative duties.
Thisappointmentis subject to Garda Vettingand thesuccessful candidate willberequired to undertake TUSLAChildProtectionTraining.Thispositionis subject to aprobationary period.Inductiontraining willbeprovided.
