We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Cloud Operation Engineer to manage, optimize, and maintain our cloud-based infrastructure.
This role ensures the stability, security, and performance of our cloud services, enabling the business to scale efficiently and reliably.
You will collaborate with development, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver high-availability solutions.
What You'll Be Doing
Cloud Infrastructure Management: Deploy, monitor, and maintain cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, or equivalent); implement and manage virtual networks, storage, compute resources, and load balancers; automate provisioning and scaling using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates)
Operations & Monitoring: Set up and manage monitoring, alerting, and logging systems (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, etc.); proactively identify performance bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resource utilization; ensure system uptime, availability, and disaster recovery readiness
Security & Compliance: Implement cloud security best practices, including IAM policies, encryption, and network security; support compliance with standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, etc.); conduct periodic security reviews and risk assessments and continuous improvements to our cloud environment
Automation & Optimization: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with DevOps and development teams; automate operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual interventions; optimize cloud costs through usage analysis and rightsizing strategies; monitor and optimize cloud costs, leveraging reserved instances, auto-scaling, and resource scheduling
Incident & Change Management: Respond to and resolve incidents within defined SLAs; maintain accurate documentation of cloud systems, procedures, and changes; participate in on-call rotation for critical incident response; DevOps integration - collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows; Disaster Recovery & Backup - design and maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies for cloud workloads; Mentorship & Leadership - perform peer reviews, and lead technical discussions
What You'll Bring
Minimum 7 years of experience in cloud infrastructure operations
Proficiency with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, VPN, firewalls, routing)
Understanding of cloud security principles and compliance requirements
Certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Azure Administrator Associate, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Engineer
Experience with hybrid cloud and multi-cloud environments
Hands-on with cost monitoring tools (AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, etc.)
Exposure to ITIL-based service management practices
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and documentation abilities
Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
Adaptability to rapidly changing technologies and priorities
