Position Title:Support Worker Centre: Residential Services The Employer:Coolebridge Care provide a range of residential services to meet the growing needs of vulnerable adults, families, and those most marginalised.
Services include Long Term Residential, Emergency Residential and Residential Family Support Services.
Work Schedule:OurServices are 24-hour, 365-day residential services and our posts covers both night shifts and day shifts (including weekends and holidays).
Our full time shifts are - 48-hour pw - 4 X 12 hr shifts per week / 3 x 12hr on rotation Contracts:We offer both Full time and Part time Relief Contracts depending on what suits your lifestyle
( full time contract upon successful completion of probation)
Salary:From €14.50 to €16.42 PH dependent on qualification and experience Location:Coolebridge Residential Services are in Dublin City Centre and surrounding areas.
Reports to:Centre manager The Role: Key Responsibilities: To ensure that the Centre is maintained in a safe, clean, and well-managed way and that all damage or maintenance required is reported to the Manager.
To report all accidents, incidents, risks and complaints to the Manager.
To work live night shifts according to the designated roster requirements, including weekends and public holidays as requested.
To undertake and ensure that all day-to-day household cleaning and hygiene is monitored and maintained to a high standard.
To ensure the centre is operating in line with security systems and health and safety measures and to ensure the safety of all residents overnight and that support is sought as required.
To communicate and document information in an accurate and concise manner.
To ensure that all relevant records and documentation are completed and filed as required.
Provide written reports on any aspect of the service as requested.
Ensure that receipts for any monies spent are accounted for at the end of shift.
To undertake training identified for professional development and to participate fully in regular supervision, debriefing and team meetings.
To promote positive working relationships with organisations such as IPAS, HIQA, Gardai, schools, neighbours, and other similar agencies.
To be fully conversant with the Coolebridge Policies and Procedures and the National Standards and Framework for Monitoring of International Protection Residential Centre's and how both are applied in practice.
Any other duties which are deemed reasonable by the Manager or the Director of Services, including emergencies To work effectively as part of a team and being open to reasonable requests from Project Leader/Deputy/Team Leader in order to ensure effective working relationships To assist and contribute to the quality agenda in order to ensure that a consistent delivery of service and quality standards are adhered to in the centre To observe all Health and Safety policies of the centre and to be involved in continual quality improvementin order to ensure that the security of the building is always maintained day and night In carrying out these functions it would be expected that employees would undertake to: To engage with and build professional trusting relationships with individual residents treating them with dignity and respect and working within the values of Coolebridge.
To provide a safe, trauma informed living arrangement for Residents, in line with the National Standards Governing Residential Centres, Coolebridge Policies and Procedures and in line with HIQA standards.
To take guidance from the Centre Manager in the delivery of services, to ensure that the highest possible standards of care are maintained within the Centre.
To treat Residents with dignity and respect and to demonstrate equality and diversity practice within the service.
To encourage residents to speak out about any aspect of their residency.
To ensure that their complaints are taken seriously and responded to appropriately.
To protect each resident from bullying and intimidation and resolve conflict effectively.
To ensure that all information relating to the Residents is treated in a professional manner and that confidentiality is maintained.
Under the guidance of the Manager to liaise with the designated residents, relevant professionals and/or agencies in relation to the placement and to be responsive when difficulties present themselves.
To devise and develop a comprehensive placement plan which is, actioned, followed, and evaluated with input from and in partnership with, the resident, the staff team, and other relevant parties, ensuring that the voice of the resident is heard.
To proactively facilitate the participation of residents in the decision-making process.
To ensure that each resident receives adequate medical, psychological, or other specialist services as required Essential Requirements Candidates from the following fields with related qualifications at Level 6, level 7 or Level 8 achieved in Ireland and/or an Internationally recognised qualification of similar value are welcomed: Social Science, Social Studies, Social Policy, Social Inclusion, Family Support, Nursing Studies, Disability Studies, Behavioural Sciences, Early Years Care, Psychology, Counselling, Psychotherapy, Addiction Counselling, Youth and Community Minimum 1 year experience of working with vulnerable and disadvantaged groups, ideally within the within community development/youth work / international protection sector Desirable ASIST, CPR, AED, TCI trained Be familiar with HIQA standards for IPAS Personal Qualities A commitment to social justice and to treating people with dignity and respect.
An understanding of the principles of teamwork and the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
A positive, can-do attitude is essential in this role Excellent communication skills, IT and report writing.
Flexibility, good time management and a professional manner A proactive and accountable approach to work The Applicant Working as part of a multidisciplinary team and under the guidance and supervision of the Centre Managers, you will be responsible for providing quality driven, trauma informed care to the residents availing of our services.
You will ensure secure and sustainable living arrangements to vulnerable people aged 18 + years.
This role will suit proactive, accountable, and flexible professionals with an interest in human rights and equality, trauma informed care and working with marginalised & vulnerable individuals and families.
