The role would ideally be based in one of our European offices.
Due to significant growth of our Energy portfolio we have multiple roles open for Senior / Lead Electrical Engineers.
Working across the Transmission and Distribution sectors, our projects span across HVAC and HVDC feasibility and FEED, project management, techno-economic assessments, and regulatory advice.
Our teams are involved in a wide range of HV projects that offer fantastic long-term opportunities to work with our clients in areas such as offshore wind and interconnectors, energy, rail, utilities, data centres and industrial facilities.

As a result, Arup is looking to recruit experienced High Voltage Electrical Engineers to join our teams in Europe and UK.
We seek highly capable and motivated specialist HVDC engineers with an eye for detail to support and inspire the team.
As well as excellent technical capabilities, the successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a proven ability to understand client requirements and provide innovative yet pragmatic and cost-effective project solutions.As an Senior / Lead HVDC Electrical Engineer - Technical Specialist / Project Leader at Arup, you will:·Work as part of an interdisciplinary team of advisors and engineers alongside other experts to support delivery of T&D infrastructure projects.
·Contribute to, and lead, the design of HVAC and/or HVDC packages trough all design stages from concept to construction and hand-over.
·Coordinate with other internal and external project stakeholders including other disciplines, service providers and clients.
·Present technical solutions to clients, contractors and authorities.The Role:We are looking for candidates holding a qualification in Electrical Engineering /Electrical Power Systems or similar.
Your role will involve working on bids and projects as part of a team and/or individually, on various projects, also client-side.
We are interested in all, or some of the skills and experience listed below, though not every single point is required to be considered:Demonstrable experience of providing power system consultancy services for transmission and distribution utilities and HVDC developerKnowledge of European and international distribution and transmission network grid connection processes and Grid CodesClient and project management on project tasksExtensive knowledge of different HVDC technologies and converter station layoutsDemonstrable experience in HVDC projects including interconnectors and onshore and offshore schemesIs this role right for you?
We are looking for people who have:A Qualification in electrical engineering / power systemsExperience of power system analysis and delivery of detailed power systems studies in software packages, such as PowerFactory, PSS/E, IPSA, ETAP, PSCAD, EMTP-ATP, ERACS and SKMCapability in DPL, Python, or other modelling languagesExperience in performing insulation co-ordination studiesWorking knowledge of power system protection settings and co-ordination, detailed cable thermal rating calculations, Transformer design and rating calculations, system losses calculations, Cost/benefit analysis and Earthing study design utilising CDEGs.Why Arup?
