Cross Agricultural Engineering Ltd. is seeking a Design Engineer.
About the Company: Cross is a leading engineering company specialising in the design and manufacturing of farm, biogas, commercial and food processing machinery.
We offer a high standard of service supported by dedicated planning and design work.
The company currently has approximately 40 staff and a state-of-the-art factory.
The in-house design facility has expanded to include a purpose-built design centre with 4 dedicated design workstations and high-performance hardware and networking.
About the Job: All machines are manufactured in-house in the Cross factory.
Each machine starts in the design centre as a concept to be developed by the engineering team.
The role involves continuing development of high-performance, reliable machines, maintaining CAD data, and updating workshop drawings as changes are made.
You will also generate user manuals and parts books for service technicians and end users.
A successful candidate will have a strong eye for detail, problem-solving ability, and an understanding of design for manufacture.
Your responsibilities include:
Responsibilities
Maintaining drawings and designs currently on the engineering system
Designing new machines as part of a team
Creating parts books
Designing new components
Improving designs of components on known problem areas of machines
Requirements
NFQ Level 7 or Level 8 Ordinary Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (Other degrees accepted: Agricultural Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, etc.)
CAD experience as part of final year project
SolidWorks experience is an advantage
Ability to work independently and as a team member in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of technical writing is an advantage (parts books, user manuals)
Must be eligible to work in Ireland without requiring a work permit
Good knowledge of farm machinery; knowledge of engineering or agricultural machinery is an advantage
Experience in machinery operation
