Title and Summary
Overview:
Architecture & Technology (A&T) is a team of specialists and senior engineers who collaborate across Mastercard's programs and teams.
We focus on reviewing, teaching, establishing rules when necessary, and assisting teams in solving complex problems.
Our expertise includes security, operational design, customer experience, privacy, regulatory compliance, and technology policies.
We maintain several policies and libraries of code to support engineering teams, promoting best practices and reducing redundant efforts.
The Role:
As an A&T Sr Principal Software Engineer, you will engage with Mastercard engineering teams and contribute to A&T deliverables such as patterns, frameworks, proof-of-concepts, policies, standards, and shared libraries.
You may lead or mentor teams, code, review code, and participate in various assignments ranging from technical due diligence to modernization efforts and distributed platform services.
Responsibilities include designing architectures, improving customer experience, driving cost-benefit improvements, and influencing engineering practices across the organization.
Additional duties encompass technical leadership, organization-wide speaking engagements, publishing technical content, mentoring engineers, engaging with external communities, and leading architecture meetings to resolve enterprise challenges.
Skills and Experiences
Required skills include leading large projects, cross-functional influence, experience in multiple programming languages, secure coding standards, understanding OS internals, promoting engineering principles, API standards, full-stack development, software planning, automation, DevOps, performance engineering, cloud architecture, and effective communication of complex systems.
