We are seeking a strategic and technically accomplished leader to drive innovation, guide technology decisions, and ensure compliance across multiple product development initiatives.
This role combines advanced engineering leadership with cross-functional collaboration to shape the future of our technology portfolio.
Key Responsibilities Drive innovation within core technical competencies and oversee advanced product and technology development projects.
Recommend critical future technology choices and maintain awareness of emerging trends and risks.
Evaluate competitive products, processes, and technologies to inform strategic decisions.
Build and retain technical competence through mentoring, training, and recruitment of top engineering talent.
Ensure adherence to BD ethics, quality policies, and all applicable safety regulations through effective communication and education.
Provide technical guidance across multiple development programs, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Foster an environment that encourages technical innovation, risk-taking, and continuous learning.
Promote deep understanding of customer needs to guide relevant and impactful technology development.
Coordinate with BD Technologies and external partners to ensure efficient transition from research to development.
Develop and manage technology development budgets and resource allocation to support project success.
Education and Experience BS degree in a technical field such as Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical degree required.
Advanced degree in related field highly desired Minimum 10 years of experience in product development with at least 5 years medical device experience in medical devices/products or equivalent education.
Experience developing devices in compliance with IEC60601 Demonstrated experience as an R&D lead for a complex program/technology with demonstrated knowledge of, and ability in, the New Product Development or technology development process Demonstrated breadth and depth of technical, organizational and leadership capabilities, including strengths in most of the competency areas listed below and solid product development knowledge and expertise embecta is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
