Environment Advisor - Construction Industry - Cork
One of Europe's leading building contractors has an exceptional opportunity as an Environmental Advisor based onsite a construction project in Cork.
A lead role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the construction project complies with environmental regulations and company standards.
Role Duties:
Assisting in maintenance of the Environmental Management System and to ensure continued compliance with ISO14001.
Apply for the relevant consents and licenses regarding environmental issues.
Develop and maintain Project Environmental Management Plans, Site Waste Management Plans etc.
and ensure that relevant controls / requirements are included in all project documentation.
Conduct environmental impact assessments and audits for construction projects.
Monitor and report on environmental performance and initiatives.
Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and standards.
Liaise with regulatory bodies (EPA, Inland Fisheries etc), and other project stakeholders on environmental matters.
Provide training and support to staff on environmental issues (Spill response etc.).
Promote sustainable construction practices and technologies within the company.
Prepare and submit environmental reports and documentation as required.
Collaborate with other departments to integrate sustainability into all aspects of project planning and execution.
Carrying out Environmental Inspections through the Contract and ensuring that all actions raised are closed out in a timely manner.
Investigating, logging and monitoring of Environmental Incidents and Non- conformances.
Providing advice to project Teams and responding to queries or correspondence on environmental issues.
Qualifications & Skills
Relevant 3rd level qualification in environment
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience on civil engineering/construction sites
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with one or more teams,
Good written and spoken communication abilities.
Good IT skills with a high attention to detail
A flexible and proactive approach
Demonstrate leadership skills.
