A Day in the Life Medtronic's Cardiac Ablation Solutions division in searching for a dynamic Mechanical Design Engineer II to join our growing team
This is a hybrid role with a 4 day onsite requirement required.
The chosen candidate will be heavily involved in supporting the design work for a critical ablation program.

A Day in The Life Of: Complex product design activities Perform concept development and prototyping Design / develop components to be manufactured via plastic injection molding, stamping, machining, extrusion and related processes Create and interpret analyses to determine suitability of design concepts Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff Incorporate risk-based decision-making into the design process Apply Six Sigma (DFSS) methodologies to all aspects of the design/development process Ensure on-time completion of Design Control deliverables Grow and maintain knowledge current with related technologies Work with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure feasibility of high-volume assembly Translate Vo X feedback into product requirements Create and release engineering drawings, reports, and presentations Travel to supplier and manufacturing sites as required Present technical findings or project status to cross functional teams and management through meeting minutes, design reviews, presentations, and other means of communication Research, plan, design, verify, validate electromechanical products and systems Key Skills & Experience Must Have: Minimum Requirements Bachelor's of engineering degree and 2+ years of experience in mechanical product development or advanced degree and 0+ years of experience in mechanical product development Nice to Have DRM Greenbelt or above Experience in the medical device industry Experience in complex mechanical system design Experience with plastic injection molding in a high-volume environment Extensive experience in 3 D modeling, finite element analysis, and statistical design analysis Process and test method development, validation Formal training in Six Sigma methodologies Experience designing/developing catheters Experience with high-volume manufacturing Medtronic offer a competitive salary and flexible Benefits Package #IJA Physical Job Requirements The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.
