Ehs Specialist

Overview
EHS Specialist (FTC 12 Months): fixed-term maternity cover role.
Reports to EHS Head.
Location: Grange Castle (TILGC), Ireland.
This position supports the site with EHS requirements, inspections, and projects, ensuring compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001.
About the Role: The primary purpose of this position is to provide guidance and support to colleagues and Service Providers on EHS requirements.
Perform regular EHS inspections, be a visible presence on site and provide active EHS support to colleagues and Service Providers, particularly for engineering initiatives/projects.
Provide EHS support to other areas as required.
Ensure continual improvement initiatives are in place to maintain ISO 45001, ISO 14001 & ISO 50001 requirements.
Responsibilities
Actively foster an ethos and culture of EHS awareness through engaging with cross-functional teams, including external providers, where EHS compliance and improvement are integral to the business.
Manage contractor works in relevant areas, walk the job, review RAMS, oversee solar panel projects, support and enhance contractor management processes onsite.
Conduct inspections and internal assessments on programmes to identify opportunities for improvement, including EHS, GMP, and Business Excellence opportunities.
Ensure early investigation of events with thorough and robust SMART corrective and preventive measures.
Provide technical safety and environmental expertise and support to relevant departments and personnel on site.
Support EHS risk management processes for relevant site areas and tasks.
Assist the EHS Head to ensure site compliance with EHS legislative requirements, regulatory bodies, and Corporate requirements.
Develop and deliver EHS training to the site as required.
Deputise for other EHS team members as required.
Participate in the site Emergency Response programme and support continuous improvement activities as required.
Ensure compliance with GxP requirements onsite.
Other duties as required by the EHS Head.
Qualifications
Minimum Level 7 qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or an equivalent discipline.
3+ years of EHS experience, ideally in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical environments.
Strong pharmaceutical (small molecule/API) experience is highly preferable.
Passionate about EHS with a proven track record in projects and employment.
Strong technical background with a hands-on, can-do approach to EHS.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to address challenges effectively.
Entrepreneurial mindset; comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
Collaborative working style with strong cross-functional relationships.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Flexible and adaptable, willing to take on additional tasks as required by business needs.
