Role: Transport Supervisor Salary: €48,000 to €56,000 per annum Duration: Permanent Location: North Dublin, Ireland Benefits:Pension contribution, career development opportunities & death in service benefit Leading logistics operation in North Dublin is seeking a highly organised and motivated Transport Supervisor to oversee transport activities across a busy multi-drop distribution network.
This role is offered on a five days over seven roster, providing a balance of weekday and weekend shifts.
The position is ideal for someone with a proven track record in transport supervision who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the transport function, delivering operational excellence while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.
The role will require strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail to manage drivers, schedules, and customer requirements effectively.
This is a hands-on role that will involve close interaction with both drivers and the wider operations team to deliver on-time, safe, and cost-effective services.
Responsibilities: Supervise day-to-day transport operations, ensuring the timely and efficient dispatch of vehicles.
Manage driver rosters, attendance, and performance to ensure coverage and high service standards.
Monitor vehicle utilisation and route planning to maximise efficiency and minimise costs.
Ensure compliance with all transport legislation, including tachograph regulations and health and safety requirements.
Liaise with customers to resolve any delivery issues quickly and professionally.
Conduct regular vehicle and driver audits, ensuring compliance with company and statutory requirements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for process and service enhancements.
Maintain accurate transport records, including driver hours, maintenance schedules, and incident reports.
Provide leadership, guidance, and training to drivers and transport team members.
Requirements: Previous experience in a supervisory role within a transport or logistics environment.
Strong knowledge of road transport legislation and compliance standards in Ireland.
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate teams.
Proficiency in transport management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Flexible approach to working hours, including availability to work weekends as part of the roster.
Problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach to challenges.
Full clean driving licence (CPC desirable but not essential).
