Meaningful Work From Day One

Slane Distillery is a state of the art purpose built distillery producing all three Irish Whiskey types (Malt, Pot Still and Grain). The Distillery Operator performs across all production processes at the Slane Castle Distillery. The operator will be cross-trained in all aspects of the distillery and is expected to have the ability to complete the job at hand in a safe, efficient, and quality-oriented manner. The Distillery Operator is also expected to monitor equipment, trouble-shoot problems, follow directions and procedures, possess a positive attitude in the presence of the public and work well with other operators. Work will be performed initially on a double shift basis, Monday to Friday, but as production volumes increase in 2024 it is planned that operations move to Monday to Saturday Operations, and ultimately in the coming years to 24/7.

What to Expect

Perform multiple and diverse production duties in the distillery and spirits store (i.e. grain receiving and handling, milling, mashing, fermentation, distillation, by-product handling, barrel filling and disgorging, blending, wastewater treatment plant operation and raw materials handling).

Conduct all work in a safe and responsible manner following the plant’s rules and regulations.

Comply with all production SOPs and policies.

Conduct various quality control tests and procedures to assure that incoming raw materials, work-in-progress, finished product and ancillary distillery processes meet the desired standards.

Perform sanitation and general clean-up functions of production tools and equipment. Assist maintenance personnel when needed for general maintenance & preventative maintenance.

Fork Lift Truck operations.

Data input and processing in production data files and SAP.

Effectively troubleshoot and resolve operational problems when they occur.

Maintain and service plant buildings, grounds, facilities and utilities equipment as needed.

What You Bring To The Table

Leaving Certificate.

Three years of work experience in a manufacturing operation or equivalent experience/education.

The ability to communicate effectively within a team.

Demonstrated ability to perform in a self-directed and self-motivated environment.
