Here at Kerry, we are currently recruiting for a QSHE Manager on a full time, fixed term (Maternity Leave) basis in Naas, County Kildare. 

The QSHE Manager is responsible for implementing Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental best practice, across all elements of service delivery, ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation, approved codes of practice and Kerry policies and procedures. They are responsible for driving QHSE continuous improvement initiatives and legal compliance at the GTIC. The role incorporates GTIC Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Manager role, and is responsible for leading QSHE and sustainability objectives.

This position reports into our Regional Food and Safety Director and although travel will be minimal, applying applicants should be aware there can be instances where regional travel could be required. 

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead the operation and promotion of an integrated management system encompassing a pro-active improvement culture in QSHE.
• Facilitate the maintenance and management of environmental, health, safety and wellbeing through systems, audit, inspection and the establishment of high standards and expectations on employees of service excellence and safety awareness behaviours and performance. 
• Undertake environmental, health and safety planning, including the settling of goals, agreeing priorities, and establishing adequate systems for performance management. 
• Develop, maintain and assure the Quality, Food Safety, H&S and Environmental Management Systems.
• Implement QSHE and sustainability objectives in line with the regional and global strategies.
• Ensure QSHE requirements are included in new projects at the GTIC.
• Assist in the delivery of comprehensive operation technical training to promote, develop and sustain a positive Health and Safety awareness culture throughout business operations. Coordinate site QSHE training needs and engage staff and leadership on performance delivery and culture change.
• Responsible for the insurance audits.
• Responsible for the coordination of the Safety Committee and emergency response / responder forums. Partner with facilities on the maintenance / management of fire protection systems, emergency and evacuation plans.
• Act as site incident controller working alongside the site Facilities Manager.
• Develop Food Safety Pre-Requisites. Create, promote and help maintain a Food Safety culture on site.
• Support the development of HACCP Plans for the different Technologies.
• Coordinate customer and authorities Food Safety Audits Liaising with different RD&A teams on different Food Safety Quality and HSE issues.
• Responsible for the site QSHE risk assessment programme.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of the site BCP.
• Manage the cleaning validations by Environmental, Pathogen and ATP swabs and analysing their results and trends.
• Oversee environmental compliance and responsible waste management on site.
• Act as point of contact for the Occupational Health service with regard to site HSE Management system performance and compliance.
• Support the site in achieving ISO50001 certification and the ongoing compliance to required certifications; Organics, SEDEX/SMETA etc.
• Report on performance at Management review meetings and use this as a forum for any improvements.

Qualifications and skills

• The role holder should ideally possess a primary degree in Science / Engineering with an OHS/Environmental/Sustainability qualification to Diploma level or higher.
• A European Language would be an advantage, however not essential. 

Experience:
• The individual should have proven experience with QHSE management systems and continuous improvement across multiple sites.
• Understanding of sustainability and ethical trading best practice.
• Experience managing customer relationships is essential.

The candidate will ideally have exposure to the following areas:
• Standards development.
• Strategy development and implementation.
• End-to-end Supply chain insight.
• Interpreting and executing to international standards.
• Project/Change management.

Competencies:
• Able to challenge and influence at all levels in an objective and constructive manner.
• Possesses effective engagement, communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
• Demonstrates proven change/project management skills.
• Must be computer literate.
• Must be effective in cross-functional working.
