What’s the Opportunity
We are seeking to recruit a Frontend Engineer, to work on the web application initially, who is up-to-date with modern frontend technologies, has a passion for building intuitive web experiences and will thrive in a high performance, fast paced, ambitious and fun environment.
This is more than a technical role, you will be contributing to the overall product development effort. Your experience will inform our engineering process and decisions when building new features.
You’ll be part of one of our multi-functional product delivery teams and will work closely with designers, product owners, quality engineers, and multi-disciplined developers.
What will I be doing
Frontend Engineers are a crucial part of the Distilled Product Delivery Teams. Working closely with the design team, we implement responsive user interfaces, using modern libraries and frameworks, such as React, TypeScript and NextJS.
As a Frontend Engineer at Distilled you will:
Build and maintain features for the Daft platform and related products
Build efficient and reusable frontend systems for the Distilled platforms
Enjoy building web interfaces that have intuitive usability
Always strive to ensure our codebase is clean, scalable and secure
Be an advocate for coding standards within the team
Keep abreast of new technologies and techniques in frontend development
What skills and experience do I need
5 years demonstrated ability in a similar role
Excellent knowledge of JavaScript
Professional Experience with React, with ES6 / Typescript
Solid foundation in HTML and CSS, experience building components from scratch
Experience working with RESTful APIs
Experience developing fully responsive web pages using mobile first techniques
To be comfortable working on your own initiative and handling your time effectively
Comfortable working and collaborating with team members
Advantage if you have
Experience working in a Scrum team
Good understanding and experience with NodeJS
Web app performance experience
Testing experience (Unit/Integration)
JS bundler experience (webpack)
Experience with any of the below: Typescript, NextJS, Cypress, Styled Components, Storybook
