We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer to join our team and take responsibility for resolving and updating equipment and process-related issues in our fully automated chocolate manufacturing factory. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines and maximizing efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Identify and diagnose equipment malfunctions or process inefficiencies in the automated production lines. Develop and implement effective solutions to resolve issues promptly and minimize downtime. System Optimisation: Continuously monitor and analyse system performance data to identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement enhancements that optimise equipment efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity. Process Automation: Design, develop, and implement automation solutions to streamline production processes and enhance operational efficiency. Utilize programming languages and automation tools to integrate new technologies and functionalities into existing systems. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of equipment configurations, software programs, and troubleshooting procedures. Generate regular reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and project progress to support data-driven decision-making and compliance requirements. Training and Support: Provide training and technical support to production staff on the operation and maintenance of automated systems. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop training materials and conduct hands-on sessions to ensure proper utilization of equipment and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Proven experience (8 years) working as an Automation Engineer in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food or beverage industry. Strong expertise in PLC programming (Allen Bradley / Rockwell), HMI development, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profibus, Ethernet/IP). Solid understanding of process control systems, robotics, and machine vision technologies. Excellent problem-solving skills with a systematic approach to troubleshooting complex technical issues. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization. Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
