We are hiring Staff Nurse-Theatre into a Private Hospital in Galway, Ireland.

We will provide exceptional patient care in an environment where quality, respect, caring and compassion are at the center of all we do.

 Responsibilities 

  • Work as a member of the nursing team on day duty and perform duties as allocated by the Clinical Nurse Manager 2.
  • Deliver skilled practical care to Theatre patients and participate in the monitoring of the planning, delivery and evaluation of individualized patient care, ensuring a patient centred focus.
  • Be aware of the multifaceted needs of Theatre patients and provide a holistic support service for them and their families.
  • Ensure that controlled drug records are kept in accordance with standard recognized legal and professional practice.
  • Ensure safe practice is adhered to in the storage and administration of all drugs in accordance with local policy and Department of Health / NMBI guidelines, keeping patient and staff safety a priority.
  • Supervise the nursing practice of less experienced staff members of the nursing team and participate in the educational aspects of that practice.
  • Be aware of the multifaceted needs of emergency, medical and surgical patients and provide a holistic support service for them and their families.
  • Keep accurate, comprehensive, up-dated records and written reports as required and guided by NMBI recommendations.
  • Ensure correct and economical use of Unit stocks and material and the safe and correct use of all equipment.
  • Ensure the safe keeping of patient’s belongings in accordance with hospital policy where necessary.


Requirements

  • Be registered in the general division of the Register of Nurses maintained by NMBI.
  • Three to five years' minimum experience working as a theatre staff nurse
  • Outstanding communication skills and the capacity to operate both alone and collaboratively.
  • Adaptability in work procedures
  • Evidence of continuous professional development and updating
